White gold low nickel Dimaika alloy
(accordingly to CE 94/27 regulation) |
||
| In Italy, since July 21th, 2001, it is no longer allowed to sell items that does not comply the Law regulates the use of nickel in jawellery.In other words it means all the items made of Au with a nickel content (white gold alloy), should release less than 0,5 microgram of nickel per sq cm and week on the human skinn. At Mario Di Maio this was the hint to elaborate the alloy for white gold again. We did spare no effort to fulfil the regulation and to keep an excellent gradation of white as well as the degree of malleability and ductility. The Dimaika basic alloy (item 0160) offers high resistance and hardness, as well as a grade of white that does not need the rhodium finishing. Furthermore, a corrective alloy (item 0160) is available to get a better malleability for all those operations like production of bands, chais and stamped items, that involve substantial permanent deformations. In these cases the color does slightly change but the rhodium finishing is generally not required up to the 50% of corrective alloy content. Further alloy title, 750 (item 0160A), 585 (item 0161) and 333 (item 0162) are also available. All titles and each composition do extensively comply to the nickel release regulation. Primay laboratories pointed out our alloy, tested accordingly to EN 1811, do show a release degree 25 times lower than the limit defined by CE 94/27 regulation. The alloy is rolled and chequered, with a combined patented blanking/drawing process that avoids the squares from stick each other and improves a quicker melting. These alloy can be used for flame, electric or induction founding, both in the atmosphere or under vacuum. For the best results we suggest to introduce metals in the crucible with the following sewuence:
